TOM LEE PARK: A RIVERFRONT FOR EVERYONE

THE LITTLE TEA SHOP is a documentary that celebrates the 100-year history of Memphis’s oldest restaurant and the remarkable story of its longtime owner, Suhair Lauck, a Palestinian immigrant who turned Southern soul food into her own version of the American dream. Founded in 1918 by two women, the restaurant has long served as a gathering place for Memphis leaders, where conversations over cornbread and turnip greens helped shape the city’s future. Through its female-led legacy, colorful characters, and enduring spirit, the film explores how The Little Tea Shop has remained a beloved institution and a cornerstone of the community for more than a century.
